There's no harm in taking a wait and see approach to this. The current situation could continue for a couple more years until WWE decides to split the titles, or they could decide in a couple of months to completely unify them. Who knows? They probably don't even know what their ultimate goal is with them.

The tag team titles were officially unified this week with the new belts. Shouldn't the Smackdown Tag Team Title lineage continued on from Wrestlemania last year up until Raw this week?

If you are talking about the physical belts, there are some other non-WWE championships that we could argue about.

Whether it's the tag team title or heavyweight championship, as long as they claim it to be "unified", I would consider the championship(s) as one.

Well, this is weird.

On WWE.com, they're continuing the WWE Tag Team Title (i.e. the one with 7 years of history) and have retired the World Tag Team Title (the one with 39 years of history)

Yes, it is weird. They took a 7-year title over something that spans four decades, but I guess that's what their mentality is.

I updated the listings for now. I wonder if they change their minds when they have a major update on the website design next time.

As for the womens/divas title, I will keep them separate for now. I assume they'll do a Lay-Cool split and a match to decide the undisputed "Divas" champion and retire the championship with longer history.

I stand corrected. Natalia is now the unified DIVAS champ.
