Ray Mendoza has died at 73. He is one of the true legends of lucha libre as a huge star of the 1950s and 1960s and into the 1970s as well. Ray is also the father of Los Villanos. Ray helped found the UWA and later became a member of the boxing and wrestling commission in Mexico City.
A true legend and former light heavyweight champion of the world.

were his sons like Villano I & II or was he Villano I or what? Sorry Im not too big on the Lucha Libre scene, but any death is tragic, so my best to his family

p.s. on a lighter note Hisa is one post away from the 1000 mark!(even tho if you count his 'Everything Else' posts I think he has 1046)but a milestone none the less

Ray Mendoza was the father and trainer of all the Villanos.
Villano I died in early 2001, I think.
A friend of mine is from the same village as them, I'm sure he'll be very sad :(
