Re: NWA Membership Roster: 1982-83Dan, thanks for posting. I added the territory and organizatio name in brackets. I have several questions, though.
I don't know about this. Did Bastien promote in Northern California after Roy Shire's group folded or something?
I was told that Stu left NWA in '81. Maybe he was actually a member until he sold out to Titan? Stu recognized AWA champ as their world champ after 82 and recognized his own world champ (IWA) in 84. I know Race did, but I wonder if Flair ever defended the title in Calgary.
I assume they were in S. California, but in what city?
Inoki wasn't allowed to be a member thanks to Baba's influence on other NWA promoters. New Japan was a member but never had a chance to book the world heavyweight champ. Very dirty political/promotional war between the two back then... Hisaharu Tanabe

I got this from Mitch Hartsey, who originally posted it on the Wrestling Classics message board. He has all of the records that were kept by Sam Muchnick and the old St. Louis office (of which he informed me that Sam pretty much kept everything), including booklets containing a list of the NWA's member booking offices from years past.
California Athletic Club, Inc. Red Bastein Prior to this, I had never heard of them either. I looked them up in the California Business Entity database though. The only information given was that they were incorporated in 1959, Bastein was their registered agent, and his address is listed as being in San Mateo. Foothills Athletic Club, Ltd. Stewart Hart I don't know. I guess the only conclusion that can be drawn from the information given is that they didn't leave the NWA in 81 afterall. J & J Sports Productions Joseph Gagliardi Booker: Le Bell Wrestling I tried looking them up in the California database as well but found nothing. Perhaps "J & J Sports Productions" wasn't an actual corporation, but just a DBA of an individual (Joseph Gagliardi) who was one of LeBell's local promoters. New Japan Pro Wrestling Co., Ltd. Hisashi Shinma & Seiji Sakaguchi Booker: Seiji Sakaguchi Didn't Dusty Rhodes defend the NWA title for them? I know that he and Baba didn't exactly love each other.
I'm sure they tried, but it didn't happen. Baba, instead, aired the title change where Flair beat Rhodes....who was a New Japan regular. Hisaharu Tanabe

Seiji Sakaguchi and Hisashi ShinmaHisa:
I asked this in the "NWF" thread on the Wrestling Classics board, but you didn't respond so I figured I'd repeat it here. Did both Sakaguchi and Shinma own part of New Japan along with Inoki at the time they were an NWA member? and if so, what were their shares in comparison?
Sakaguchi was always the VP until Inoki ran for the congress, so I'm sure he had some share although I don't know how much. Shinma probably did as well because Inoki was basically letting him handle just about everything in early 80s.

In the case of Capitol Wrestling Corporation, Bob Marella, Phil Zacko, and Arnold Skaaland were part owners. Same goes for Elton Owen and Dutch Savage with Don Owen Sports, Inc. So my guess is the first person/people listed is/are the principal owner(s) of the company while the associates are other owners and/or high ranking officials.
Dan...Do you think you could get your friend over on WC to find for me, the last date at which WWF appears on the NWA Membership Roster. I presume that he also has the minutes from the meetings, perhaps those could help.
I have searched for a more accurate date than ??/??/1983 for when WWF split from a working relationship with NWA - perhaps this could FINALLY lead somewhere. Many thanks, Dan necrosis215
Re: Dan...
I just e-mailed him about it, so when he responds I'll let you know.
Re: Re: Dan...
Again, many thanks necrosis215
OK, he says the last time they appeared on the roster was for the 1983-84 period. He says he thinks that they might have left at the Fall 84 meeting, but I think that's incorrect for obvious reasons. At any rate, he's gonna check the minutes to see. I'm gonna e-mail him back to try and get a little more info, plus the complete membership listing for that period. If I find out anything more, I'll post it.
Appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me at \[EMAIL=necrosis215@yahoo.co.uk\]necrosis215@yahoo.co.uk\[/EMAIL\]
I'd love to discuss about the WWE lists with you. necrosis215
Re: Fritz's Booker
Found out today that Gary Williams is Gary Hart. Also got the listing for 1981. It's the same roster of promotions with a few tweaks here and there, but nothing major. The most notable one is St. Louis Wrestling Club, Inc., which has Sam Muchnick listed in place of Geigel, Race, O'Connor, and Gagne. O'Connor is still the booker, however. Likewise, here's the list of officers and board members for that period: Officers: Jim Crockett, Jr. - President Bob Geigel - 1st Vice President Ron Fuller - 2nd Vice President James E. Barnett - Secretary/Treasurer Board of Directors: James Barnett Jim Crockett, Jr. Ron Fuller Bob Geigel Victor Jovica Mike LeBell Vince McMahon Frank Tunney Fred Ward
