Does anybody know what the deal is with the following title changes:
1. 22/07/02 Grand Rapids, MI - Johnny Stamboli defeats Bradshaw for the title, and Bradshaw then regains it. Both this site and the Solie site list this change as happening. However, this match took place on Sunday Night Heat and according to other sites, Bradshaw won this match without losing the title.
2. On 04/08/02 Bradshaw defeated Tommy Dreamer for the title with Dreamer then regaining it. This happened at a house show in Pittsburgh. Again both this site and Solie's don't list it.
I don't know about your second question, but wasn't the first when Johnny ran in at the end of a match to win it on RAW? Later on in the show he was talking to Bischoff backstage when Bradshaw hit him with the "clothesline from hell", and pinned him. Or was that a different time? I know that one happend on RAW because I saw it, and I almost never watch Heat. But then again, who can keep track of all the HC title changes? Not me.
1) the title didnt change hands on the 7/28 episode of sunday night heat...which was taped before 7/22's Raw in grand rapids MI..this was the match where bradshaw hit stamboli with a clothesline while he was in a trashcan ,then pins him...silly match with kayaks, oars, and life jackets used as weapons
2) the title did indeed change hands on the 8/4 pittsburgh house show..it was the 7th match of the night...bradshaw vs tommy dreamer..bradshaw hits dreamer with clothesline from hell, pins him, then shawn stasiak and justin credible run out from back. and interfere as usual. dreamer then hits bradshaw with DDT, taking the title back...thats sounds like many house show hardcore matches, but this one did happen on 8/4
As people pointed out already the title never changed hands on the Sunday Night Heat card.
As for the 8-4-02 card
The results I have are Bradshaw winning then the title going to Stasiak, then Justin then Dreamer.

Well, as of the August 26th WWE Raw, the Hardcore title is no more...
I think it's a shame. With the 24/7 rule removed, the title could have become a respectable belt again, with hard fought matches instead of a backstage "hit in the head with a cookie sheet while he left the bathroom" quick pin. I never had any delusions of a Big Japan-style bloodbath title match (dreams, yes, but no delusions), but the potential was there for some epic battles.

I think after 24/7 was first introduced the Hardcore title was screwed. In fact scrath that after the Big Bossman got the belt the Hardcore title was screwed. Shame of it is, with Tommy Dreamer getting pushed and dragging the title along with him, it was beginning to redeem itself. Why have the final 24/7 battle royal one week and the unify the title the following week.
Dreamer should beat Jericho for the IC Title, clean, and the wrestle all his title defenses under "Dreamer's Rules". I think this guy is a great working and his character(as shown in ECW) can be World/WWE Champion quality if used properly

I agree with you that Dreamer in the right scenario is quality, and maybe he should have got the IC title, but no way is Tommy Dreamer or will he ever be World Championship material. ECW was a differnt matter because the World champ never carried the promotion, in WWE, even if the Champion isn't booked as the top man(Jericho, Angle etc..), he has to have the aura of being the top guy. I'm a huge Dreamer fan, but he doesn't have the ability to turn the dial up to number 10.
