As you see on my website, Heywood Allen was listed by a Waterloo paper as the president for the pre-1948 National Wrestling Alliance.
However, Tim Hornbaker, whose NWA book has recently been released, reported to me yesterday that he couldn't find any connection between Pinkie George's Iowa-based "National Wrestling Alliance" and Heywood Allen, a Louisville promoter from 1940s.
Instead, Allen mainly booked the guys from Tom Packs of St. Louis including National Wrestling Association champions (but not the Alliance champions).
It appears that after all, pre-1948 NWAlliance was strictly for Pinkie George's Iowa promotion, and Allen was just a figurehead president on a paper only.
