Possible Incorrect Title Change DateHisa,
You have Ole Anderson defeating Jerry Brisco for the Eastern States title on 05/23/1973 in Raleigh. I have Brisco defeating Ole the day before in Raleigh. Any ideas?
Also, I have Gene & Ole Anderson defeating Jerry Brisco & Thunderbolt Patterson on 06/28/73 in Greensboro, but it doesn't state whether or not it was a title match. Do you have the 07/05/1973 Greensboro card, because I don't?
Re: Possible Incorrect Title Change Date
My sources for the Mid-Atlantic titles are these wonderful sites: Mid-Atlantic Gateway Wrestling Memories Got those dates/locations you mentioned from these sites. Hisaharu Tanabe

Any ideas about the 05/22/1973 Brisco-Anderson match in Raleigh? Is there a clipping for it that states either as champion?
Bushinyou, I do not have that Raleigh clipping but the Mid-Atlantic
Gateway may have it. Clipcorner, who has done a mountain of research on the Crockett territory has shared a bunch of his stuff. If it is available I will get back to you on this later. The problem with a lot of the newspaper poster ads is sometimes when a title match is listed, there is no indication of which person or team is the champion(s). But you have to go with what information is available. It is a lot of fun researching and collecting this stuff but I find that when you compare ads and articles from the different towns,it is not unusual to find conflicting information once in awhile.
At the end of 1973 for the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team titles, there is the [...] symbol between the Anderson's 12/26/1973 title victory and them regaining the belts on 03/09/1974 from Bob Bruggers & Johnny Weaver.
However, I have a listing from 03/07/1974 in Winston-Salem of them defending the titles against Danny Willer & Bearcat Wright. The last before that I have is 01/31/1974, again in Winston-Salem defending against Art Nelson & Johnny Weaver. Sorry, I can't get either Mid-Atlantic site from work, hence part of the reason for having so many questions.
Gene and Ole Anderson won the belts from Brute Bernard and
Jay York in Columbia,SC on 12/26/73. Paul Jones and Bob Bruggers won the titles from Gene and Ole Anderson in Fayetteville,NC on 4/8/74. Those two title changes are verified by newspaper clippings on the Mid-Atlantic Gateway. I have not yet seen any documentation to support a short title reign by Johnny Weaver and Bob Bruggers. That is not to say it did not happen, just that it can not be verified at this time. There may be more short title swaps that we don't know about yet. An example would be 9/25/71 Hampton,VA.Every online result I have ever seen lists Rip Hawk and Swede Hanson losing to Becker and Weaver by dq.But the Hampton newspaper clearly states that Hawk and Hanson won the the Atlantic Coast Tag Team title that night. The two teams already had a title match scheduled for Mon.9/27/71 which Becker and Weaver won.Since this took place between tv tapings it was never mentioned on tv.
I've got a result from 06/03/1975 in Raleigh at the Dorton Arena with Ric Flair over Paul Jones to win the Mid-Atlantic TV title. It's the only match I have from that venue and date, so I assume it's from the Flair record book. Any ideas?
I also just found a 06/10/1975 rematch from the Dorton Arena with Jones regaining the Mid-Atlantic TV title from Flair. Again, it's the only result listed for that date and venue.
Yeah, it's strange. I have no record of Jones actually winning the belt from Flair. In fact, I have a result of Flair defending the title on 05/31/1975, but on 06/03/1975 Flair supposedly regains the title and Jones wins it back on 06/10/1975.
When I find stuff like this, I like to throw the info out there, whether it be on this board, my own, or elsewhere. Hopefully I'm not bugging you with all these questions.
You are not bugging me in the least Bushinyou.I love discussions
like this.Anytime you have questions about any of your Mid- Atlantic results from the sixties and seventies,I will be happy to share whatever I have. That is my favorite period for Jim Crockett Promotions. I have been looking for some more info on the Brass Knuckles title today. When I get finished I will share that with you also.
MACW @ Greensboro, NC – 09/03/1978
Bill Howard fought to a draw with Roberto Soto… Richard Blood defeated Charlie Fulton… Skip Young defeated Mr. X #1… Mr. Wrestling & Johnny Weaver defeated Skandor Akbar & Mr. X #2… Dick Murdoch defeated Gene Anderson… NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team champions Paul Jones & Ricky Steamboat defeated NWA World Tag Team champions Greg Valentine & Baron Von Raschke… Blackjack Mulligan defeated NWA United States champion Ric Flair by DQ. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have this match listed as a title change, but no defenses of the World titles by Jones and Steamboat and the next listing has Valentine and Von Raschke defending the belts. I got this result from clawmaster, whose results I have to make a lot of edits to.
