Ok, All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling had its final card back in April this year, and I'm sure many of you have already read this on other websites, but I'll post it anyway since this probably indicated the "real" end of the promotion.
RIP - Kuni-san
Kunimatsu Matsunaga, the last president of All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling, committed suicide around 6pm on 2005/08/15 by jumping off from the 7th floor of a building in Tokyo at the age of 63.
Kunimatsu was the fourth of five brothers, whose youngest four were the founders of All Japan Women's. He was also active as a senior referee under the name of "Jimmy Kayama".
Not to be confused with Takashi Matsunaga, who was the chairman and is currently having a health issue.
Women's World Title
WWWA world champion Kumiko Maekawa abandoned the title after consulting with the former AJW executives. She said that she could make money out of the title which has been controlled by herself since the closing of AJW, but she'd rather keep it important and prestigeous by abandoning it. I personally believe WWWA title was the most prestigeous title for women's pro-wrestling.
Say good-bye (and thank you) to one of the greatest pro-wrestling organizations ever...
