My favorite hands down is the great 5 star classic between Sato-Octagon vs. Love Machine and Eddy Guerrero. Incredible heat, non stop action, quite simply one of the greatest matches in PPV history.
The other one is the historic MASK vs. MASK match between Villano III and Atlantis. It is easy why it was chosen match of the year by the Observer.
I also enjoy the match between Hijo Del Santo and Blue Panther from Japan. Textbook match between two great pros.
Love Machine vs. Blue Panther (Mask vs. Mask)... A great match with a stupid ending. Love Machine got DQ'd after Tombstoning Blue Panther. Love Machine lost his mask.

When did this happen?

Did you like it better than their more famous Hair vs. Mask match from '93?

Kinda liked it better than that one, but they both had a stupid ending... **** DQ's...
Villano III vs. Atlantis-Mask vs. Mask from CMLL 3/7/2000 was good to... Oh the dive by Villano wich busted Atlantis skull was nasty... Match was good, very emotional ending also.
I wouldnt sya it's my favorite, but there is a match I caught on Galavision, a spanish station here in Chicago that shows Lucha every weekend for 5 hours, where Gronda was coming off the top rope with a backbrain kick, but landed wrong and his shin bone broke in 2, popping out of his skin. Harsh. not a favorite match, but it definately stands out. As for my favorite.....SANTO VS. THE WOLFMAN!!!!! WOLFMAN TURNED INTO A BAT AND FLEW AWAY AFTER BEING UNMASKED! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I'll have to agree with everyone on the When Worlds Collide PPV tag match between el Hijo del Santo/Octagon vs. Love Machine/Eddie Guerrero. Los Gringos Locos were had so much heel heat it was amazing. I still remember Barr and Guerrero screaming "187" in reference to a California ballot proposition that had to do with illegal immigration and the backstroke motion they made in reference to illegals swimming across the river to the US borders. Mike Tenay did a great job getting this match over to the home viewers. The Frankensteiner off the shoulders was just amazing given that Otani and Benoit missed it earlier in the year during the Jr. Tag Tourney. Just a great match.
On a similar note, my favorite Lucha spot, or at least the most memorable, was Mascarita Sagrada coming off the top of the cage onto Jake Roberts. Just amazing.
I have seen some lucha matches on small shows through out Mexico that have been some of the best I have ever seen!
Saw a tag match at the El Toreo in Tijuana,Mexico with El Dandy, and the Inferno versus Perro Aguayo jr. and Arachna that was very good. The main with Santo versus Super Parka for heat was awesome too.
To me Lucha (not the stuff on TV most of the time) is almost like going in a time machine, but with fancier moves.
