Debuted around 1969 (may be wrong) in the old JWA, under the name Akihisa Takachiho... Won NWA United National title in 1973, right about JWA folding... Jumped to All-Japan but started competing in the U. S., where he won several titles as Takachiho and as Mr. Sato (alternating with Akio Sato)... Back in Japan, won the Asian tag team title with Samson Kutsuwada in 1976... Adopted the Great Kabuki name and face paint in the early 1980's in Texas' World Class promotion... Returned to Japan in the late 80's as All-Japan broke with the NWA... Was Jumbo Tsuruta's replacement partner when Yoshiaki Yatsu jumped to SWS in early 1990, but just when things started going good and he won the Double Cup (All-Japan World tag title), he too bailed out and jumped to SWS... Spent the next year aimlessly feuding with Tenryu in SWS and its replacement, WAR... Later supported the creation of IWA Japan with the remaining WING wrestlers... Had a retirement match in 1998 in which he teamed with his "son" (according to American storylines) The Great Muta, to beat Tatsutoshi Goto & Michiyoshi Ohara... Continues being involved in IWA's operation and briefly came out of retirement for a 6-man tag match last year.
Kabuki was also a contender for the NWA World heavyweight title in the 80's in All-Japan (against Flair) and in 1995 in IWA Japan (against Dan Severn). MÁMENME EL BICHO TODOS LOS FANS DE LA WWE!
Thanks so much, Peru-Yakuza! That helps a whole lot!
Any idea what his signature moves were? DAANGEROUSSS BAKU-DOROPPU!!!!!!
Someone had told me that in a match between Muta and Kabuki, Muta hit Kabuki in the head with a hammer in a pretty sick spot...has anybody seen this on tape??? Just wondering how legit it is (if it really happend)
BACK BUMPS - MY ANTI DRUG
yeah, I have the match on my Best of Great Muta: Viollent battles of Muta - volume 3 tape. it's pretty bloody stuff, at one point they show a close up on Kabuki's head and you can see the blood literally squirting out. "Where there's a will..."
Umm...lol, if anyone has the stomach, here's the URL for the pic of The Great Kabuki squirting blood

Kabuki bled like hell. I remember a match with Stan Hansen where he was squirting blood. In another match around the same time, Hansen and Tenryu slammed the back of his head into the mat in their double powerbomb spot. Both pretty nasty.

DUDES, just click on the link, and manually remove T14.jpg and it'll work.
Then just scan through the pics till you find it... <span style='color:red'>Want good Puroresu Tapes?</span>
