I was combing the Lou Thesz Forum over on the Wrestling Classics site, when I came across a thread containing some interesting info pertaining to the history of the National Wrestling Alliance.

Where these tw matches title or non title matches

1-Chono beats Sasaki with the STF on 09-10-92 in Osaka, JAPAN.

2-Chono beats Arn Anderson with the STF on 10-22-92 in Cincinnati, OH. The main reason I ask about this match is I know the they night these two faught again with the same results but it was non-title.

I've been doing some research here on the net for quite some time and have come across a lot of information pertaining to several of the old NWA affiliated booking offices, including their principal location (city) as well as a list of various officers and directors associated with these companies. OK whats the story with this one.

Hashimoto defeats Shawn Hernandez on 5-23 on a zero-one card in 4:43 in Tokyo, Japan.

That seesm to be the only clear part. In Japan they are announcing it as a title change with Hashimoto becoming the 48th champion. Stories also have Hashimoto claiming he doesn't want that worthless title he wants the NWA title.

I don't know when McGuirk actually retired, but his promotion closed in '82. He controlled the title throughout the 50s-70s at least until '80 (could be '82 when his promotion closed).

I found this in the October 1984 Issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. It shows his title defense schedule while Kerry was champion. I thought whomever was doing the Complete Listing of NWA Title defense webpage would be interested. It doesn't list the outcomes of the matches though.
