Tor Kamata passed away on 2007/07/23 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan after a long battle with heart disease.

Kamata was one of the top heels in the old IWE where he was Rusher Kimura's big rival. He then wrestled for All Japan and won the prestigeous PWF Heavyweight Title from Giant Baba in 1978. He had a total of 16 tours in Japan.

He also held various titles in Canada and the U.S. including AWA World Tag Team Title under the name of "Dr. Moto", teaming with Mitsu Arakawa.
