Brass Knuckles TAG TEAM Titles?MACW @ Charlotte, NC – 07/03/1972
Matti Suzuki defeated Randy Curtis… Rock hunter fought to a draw with Les Thatcher… Farmer Pete & Ronnie Garvin defeated Two Ton Harris & Wee Willie Wilson… Art Nelson & Johnny Weaver defeated The Great Bolo & Bolo to win the NWA Brass Knuckles Tag Team title… Jack Brisco, NWA Eastern States champion Jerry Brisco, & Eddie Graham defeated Swede Hanson, Gary Hart, & Rip Hawk in a 6-man tag team match. I've never heard of this title. Any ideas on this one? I'll be able to tell in a few days if there are anymore listings for it.
Here's another one:
1973/06/07 Greensboro, NC Royal Kangaroos beat Art Nelson & Johnny Weaver to win Brass Knuckles Tag Title I had never heard of this title either. Hisaharu Tanabe, webservant

Could it be from another territory? It seems odd because Bolo & The Great Bolo would've only been in for a one-shot deal, as I don't seem to have anything else of them being in Mid-Atlantic in 1972.
I found another listing:
MACW @ Fayetteville, NC – 09/25/1972 Charlie Fulton defeated Angelo Martinelli… Dennis McCord defeated Bobby Paul… Big Boy Brown defeated Jim Grabmire… Jim Dillon defeated The Masked Menace by DQ… NWA Brass Knuckles Tag Team champions Art Nelson & Johnny Weaver defeated Gene & Ole Anderson. The odd thing about this one is that Nelson and Weaver were the reigning Atlantic Coast Tag Team champions.
MACW @ Salem, VA – 11/24/1972 (4,000+)
Johnny Ringo defeated Johnny Heidman… Nelson Royal defeated Joe Soto… Klondike Bill defeated Matti Suzuki… Big Boy Brown defeated The Masked Menace… Ronnie Garvin & Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Gene & Ole Anderson… NWA Taped Fists Tag Team champions Art Nelson & Johnny Weaver defeated The Royal Kangaroos. Just to add a little more confusion to the matter, here's a listing for a NWA Taped Fist Tag Team championship. I'm left to believe that the Taped First and Bruss Knuckles titles are two references to the same title. And again, Nelson and Weaver were the Atlantic Coast Tag Team champions when this Taped Fist title match took place.
I sent a link to this thread to the people at Mid-Atlantic Gateway and Wrestling Memories. Let's see if they have anything to say.

This was a one shot deal with the Bolos coming in as champions to
establish the title.Art Nelson had introduced this type of match to the Mid-Atlantic,he and his opponent taping their fists and going until someone was down for the ten count.Yes these matches were sometimes billed as taped fist matches. About eight weeks after Johnny Weaver and Art Nelson won the Brass Knuckles Trophy, they won the Atlantic Coast Tag belts on Aug.31,1972 in Greensboro from Missouri Mauler and Brute Bernard. Several people were involved in the research we did on the Atlantic Coast Tag Team Title for our site Wrestling Memories.Collectively we have all the clippings for the house show changes. The changes that took place on tv came from comparing notes, memories and a process of elimination using clippings showing who was where and when.It may not be perfect but we always welcome any info that is better than what we have.If we are wrong on any of the title changes we will gladly make corrections. We want any title history we are involved in to be as accurate as possible. Johnny Weaver and Art Nelson defended both tag titles until they lost the Atlantic Coast belts to the Andersons on March 3,1973 in Winston- Salem.I was lucky enough to see that match. They lost the Brass Knucks title to the Royal Kangaroos in Greensboro,NC on June 7,1973. Research turned up a previous 1 week ACTT reign for the Anderson's in Nov.1972 in Charlotte.I did not remember this title switch and am not sure it was ever recognized on tv.We now realize that some of the shorter title reigns were never mentioned concerning this and other JCP titles. It seems only the fans who witnessed them knew about them until archive research turned them up. The Brass Knuckles sort of faded away by the end of 1973.As far as I know the Royal Kangaroos were still the champions when they left JCP.
