Australia - Legends and Titles

Postby mediaman » Wed Jul 07, 2004 12:16 am

Australia has some of the richest wrestling history in the world.

Many titles have been won and lost down under, and some of the dates and particulars are rather sketchy.

Some of the champions we had included Milano, Rackman, Miller, O'Dea and Lewin.

In my book, Rackman and Milano were 2 of the greatest, and are real living legends of the wrestling business.

Something tells me that there will be more rumblings "down under".

Laurie Boyd

Does the name Laurie Boyd mean anything to Australian wrestling fans?
On a UK forum we are tracing the history of a British masked wrestler called Count Bartelli. It seems that in 1967 Bartelli toured Australia and defeated Laurie Boyd to win the Commonwealth Heavyweight Title. Anyone any have knowledge of Laurie?
